The senior thesis dance concert is a yearly production choreographed by the senior BFA Dance Performance and Choreography class and produced by student designers and stage managers of their choosing. I was extremely honored to have been asked to stage manage this performance and greatly enjoyed my experience. Each senior choreographed a piece for their classmates and the finale dance was performed by the whole class together. In addition to stage managing the show, I designed the lights for four of the pieces. It was my first time acting as a lighting designer and I ended up loving it. I was able to create effects and unique looks that I was very proud of.
Because the Senior Dance Concert is completely student run, I also ran and edited projections and sound on QLab. I had never used the software before so I had to teach myself how it works during our tech rehearsals. While learning so many new aspects of design at once was extremely difficult, the final show was one of my favorite productions I have ever been a part of.
