Stage managing the Fall Dance Concert was a daunting task for me, especially since it was my first time working on crew for a dance show and it was my first time stage managing a mainstage show in college. Having been a dancer myself, I had an understanding of the movement but had never experienced the behind-the-scenes process in this context. The concert featured eight different pieces, each with its own choreographer, and seven different lighting designers, which required careful scheduling coordination to ensure that everything came together smoothly. Calling a show without words, and sometimes without any sound at all, was a completely novel experience for me that taught me tools that I could bring into future productions.
