Stage managing Antigone was a very unique experience since it was a student-run production. The show was performed in a small blackbox theater, which presented its own set of challenges in terms of space and sightlines. I worked closely with the team to make sure the limited space was used effectively, ensuring that both the 16 person cast and the audience had the best experience possible.
Since it was a student-run production, I was involved in every aspect of the process, from creating runsheets to coordinating cues and transitions to choosing the creative team and running load in, collaborating with the director and producers along the way. The intimate setting of the blackbox theater allowed for a closer connection between the actors and the audience, making the experience all the more impactful.
